Rockland County psychiatry · 216 Congers Road
If you are looking for a psychiatrist in New City, NY, Healing Mindz is at 216 Congers Road, Suite 302, in the heart of Clarkstown, with free parking on site. Dr. Balveen Singh and colleagues see adults and adolescents from across Rockland County for evaluations, medication care, therapy and TMS.

Dr. Balveen Singh is a board-certified psychiatrist and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, a training path that emphasizes looking at the whole person, including physical health, sleep and daily life, alongside psychiatric symptoms. Dr. Singh leads the clinical team at Healing Mindz and speaks English, Punjabi, Urdu, French, Gujarati and Hindi, so many families in Rockland can talk through sensitive topics in the language they are most comfortable in.
Dr. Balveen Singh practices alongside Dr. Kuljit Singh, M.D., also a board-certified psychiatrist, who sees patients at this office. The wider team includes board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioners Diane Sirakovsky, Riddhisha Shah, Melanie MacIntosh and Carolyn Conover, plus therapists Nadine A. McKenzie, MFT-LP, and Samia Vieux, MA-MFT. When you call, the front desk can tell you which clinicians have openings in New City. Full profiles are on our team page.
The first visit is a full psychiatric evaluation, usually 45 to 60 minutes. Check in at Suite 302, complete a short intake questionnaire, and then sit down with your clinician to talk through what is happening, your history and your goals. Before you leave, you agree on a plan together, whether that is starting or changing medication, therapy, further assessment or a mix.
Bring your insurance card, photo ID and a list of current medications. If you have seen a psychiatrist before, records from that practice save time and help avoid repeating medications that did not work.
After the evaluation, the rhythm of care depends on what you are being treated for. When a medication is new or a dose has just changed, check-ins tend to be closer together so side effects and early benefits can be caught quickly. Once things settle, visits spread out. Each follow-up is a chance to say honestly what is and is not working; adjustments are expected, not a sign of failure.
Some medications need periodic blood tests or a blood-pressure check, and we will tell you at the start if yours does. Lab orders can go to any draw site convenient to you in Rockland. With your written permission, we share updates with your primary-care doctor or therapist so everyone treating you is working from the same plan.
Between visits, call the office with questions about side effects or refills. For an emergency, or if you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 or go to the nearest emergency department; the practice is not a crisis service.
New patients can often be seen within the week, depending on the clinician and the time of day you need. Evening appointments are available until 7 PM on Mondays and Tuesdays, and the office is open 9 AM to 1 PM on Saturdays, which helps commuters who work in Westchester, Bergen County or Manhattan.
Once you are established, many follow-ups can move to video visits from home or work, as long as you are in New York State during the call.
New City is our full-service location. Alongside evaluations and medication management, it is the only office where we deliver TMS therapy, so patients from both counties come here for their treatment course. Read about TMS in Rockland County or what a TMS session is like. Therapy with our family therapists is also offered on site.
